Victoria’s Secret Recruitment Pipeline
Edition label: 2026-10
Definition: Whitney Webb reports allegations that Epstein used a claimed Victoria’s Secret connection as a lure1 and that Ghislaine Maxwell attended company events.2 Webb relays media descriptions of an “Epstein-Victoria’s Secret pimp pipeline” and calls young models lured through Victoria’s Secret “a key target” for recruitment, but she does not describe a coordinated recruitment filter run through the branded modeling circuit, and she does not place MC2 or Jean-Luc Brunel at Victoria’s Secret events.3
Overview
Jeffrey Epstein managed the personal finances of Leslie Wexner (founder of L Brands, who acquired Victoria’s Secret in 1982) and, according to Webb, became increasingly involved in the affairs of the Wexner-owned lingerie brand.4 Whitney Webb (One Nation Under Blackmail, ch.5 18) argues that Epstein exploited his Wexner/Victoria’s Secret association as a lure;6 the cited account does not establish that Victoria’s Secret as a company was an active operational component of his trafficking network.
Webb describes Epstein posing as a Victoria’s Secret scout or owner and using the brand as a lure; the broader mechanism below goes beyond what her account documents:7 1. Webb discusses Victoria’s Secret events and, separately, Brunel and MC2; the cited material does not document their operating together at those events. 2. Webb reports that some aspiring models were introduced to Epstein by booking agents or friends, and that he presented himself as a Victoria’s Secret scout or even its “owner”.8 3. The VS brand provided legitimacy and glamour that made the recruitment approach credible to its targets.
Leslie Wexner Connection
Epstein held power of attorney over Wexner’s personal finances (granted in 1991, according to AP reporting), which let him make investments, do business deals, buy property and help develop the New Albany estate; Wexner says Epstein stepped back from managing those finances in 2007.9 The nature of Wexner’s knowledge of and participation in Epstein’s conduct is disputed.10 Wexner has said he was “deceived” by Epstein and that he severed ties in 2007, before Epstein’s June 2008 state plea; Justice Department records reported by AP show Wexner emailed Epstein on June 26, 2008, and Wexner’s spokesperson says the 2007 date refers to firing Epstein as financial adviser and revoking his power of attorney.11
Whitney Webb’s analysis treats the VS pipeline not as something Wexner necessarily designed or controlled, but as something Epstein exploited as a lure through the access Wexner’s business empire provided.12
